L'Aquilon 1733
L'Aquilon was a large frigate carrying 42 guns, built by René-Nicolas Levasseur in 1731 at Toulon, and launched in 1733.Due to its large armament, it was close to the small ships of the line of 50 guns, which explains why it was several times integrated into divisions or squadrons whereas it was not normally the mission of the frigates. Used several times in battle, she was lost by shipwreck during the Seven Years' War.
