Raised in a post Data Dropout world, Hina’s generation was raised in a world that had reverted back to the times of analogue, as it still reeled from the wounds inflicted on the digital world. So instead of music streamed on the internet or from an MP3 player, Hina sat in front of her great-grandparent’s old vinyl player, listening to all kinds of music of the 20th century. As she grew up and the digital world began to reemerge, Hina found herself engrossed in the online music scene that was quickly emerging on the OzNet.

She became an early mover in the new music scene of the Chrome Coast and Australia’s Eastern Seaboard. Donning the moniker “Wavefront,” her music was a surreptitious blend of 80s inspired synthwave and Japanese Hip Hop - bilingual and often released with both Japanese and English lyrics. She quickly earned a cult following, often headlining musical events across the Chrome Coast and greater Australia, even performing in Japan. But that world of glamour came crashing down when an overly obsessed fan began growing increasingly erratic. Hina was unable to get any aid from the police, who couldn’t charge him with crimes he hadn’t yet committed, and wouldn’t put out a warrant to search his property without charging her a fortune to do so.

So she went elsewhere, contacting the Burleigh Privacy Bureau, a private security and investigation firm that specialised in cases for celebrities on the Chrome Coast. Though they agreed to take the job, her #1 fan struck before anything could be set in motion. Kidnapping Hina, they began driving her to The Spit, with intentions that still haunt her with nightmares to this day. Though having already signed up as a client, her chipset alerted the BPB with a distress beacon, and their staff intercepted the lunatic before he could inflict any more harm on her. He was gunned down in a feeble attempt at a last stand, and Hina was freed from the trunk of his battered EV.

She hadn’t paid for their services yet, however Hina offered to repay them in ways better than coins. She began working for them as her moonlighting job, maintaining her career and persona as “Wavefront,” while clandestinely working as a recruiter, acquisitions expert, networker and proxy for the Burleigh Privacy Bureau. She ensured all her celebrity friends wound up on a subscription with the company for their safety, as well as hand picking her own security staff and mercs that work with the firm. But all this is veiled from the public, and only those in the BPB and those close to her know how high she now sits in the company’s ranks, and how proficient she has become with an iron.
